Benefits of Regular Workouts Many studies have clearly demonstrated that participating in regular physical activity provides adults with many health benefits. These benefits can be summarized as follows:
- lowering the risk of certain chronic diseases, such as coronary heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, adverse blood lipid profile (high cholesterol), type 2 diabetes, colon cancer, breast cancer, and lung cancer.
- improving body weight and composition, by prevention of obesity, unnecessary weight gain, and promoting loss of excess weight, particularly when combined with reduced calorie intake.
- improving muscular and cardiorespiratory fitness, which in turn promotes better overall physical ability, fewer falls and injuries, better cognitive functions, better sleep, and reduced depression.
- reducing the risk of financial crisis and personal bankruptcy. A Harvard study published in 2005 found that about half of those who filed for bankruptcy said health care expenses, illness or a job-loss related to illness led them to do so. Twenty-seven percent cited medical bills that were not covered by insurance, and two percent said they had mortgaged their home to pay what they owed. In short health and fitness should be a major part of your financial planning.
Benefits of InCore Workouts. In addition to the general health benefits that most studies recognized, we believe that InCore health and fitness programs offer additional specific benefits: - indoor programming
- instructor/group dynamics
- personal improvement metrics
- low impact and low incidence of injury
- emphasis on core and cardio-respiratory fitness
- structured programs, instructor training and monitoring
- adaptable to age, fitness levels, physical restrictions or other special needs
- cross-training synergies
- community building
